Bill Haslam

49th Governor of Tennessee

Bill Haslam is the former governor of the State of Tennessee. He was the first elected in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014 with the largest victory in modern Tennessee history. Under his leadership, Tennessee became recognized as a national leader in education, economic development, efficient and effective government, and fiscal strength.

Kaya Henderson

Kaya Henderson (New York '92) started her career teaching Spanish in the South Bronx. Fueled by this experience, she has played a pivotal role in advancing education in the nation's capital, leading DCPS to become the fastest-improving urban school district in America. She is currently the CEO of Reconstruction US.

Kevin Huffman

Kevin Huffman is the Chief Executive Officer of Accelerate, a nonprofit initiative that seeks to embed high-impact tutoring programs in public schools now and for the long term.

David Kenny (Board Chair)

David Kenny was appointed Chief Executive Officer at Nielsen in November 2018. In February 2019, he assumed the role of Chief Diversity Officer. Kenny has spent his career in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, especially focused on the retail, marketing, and media industries.

Michael L. Lomax, Ph. D.

President and Chief Executive Officer

UNCF

Since 2004, Dr. Michael L. Lomax has served as president and CEO of UNCF, the nation’s largest private provider of scholarships and other educational support to African American students and a leading advocate of college readiness: students’ need for an education from pre-school through high school, that prepares them for college success. Under his leadership, UNCF has raised more than $3 billion and helped more than 110,000 students earn college degrees and launch careers.

Susan McCaw

President

SRM Capital Investments

Susan McCaw is a businesswoman, former diplomat and philanthropist. She served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Austria and is currently President of SRM Capital Investments, a private investment firm. Previously, she was President of COM Investments and a Principal at Robertson Stephens & Co., a San Francisco-based investment bank. Ms. McCaw also worked as an Associate in Robertson Stephens Venture Capital Group.

Ken Mehlman

Partner, Global Head of Public Affairs & Co-Head of KKR Global Impact ǀ KKR

Ken Mehlman is a social entrepreneur, with experience driving change via business, public policy, politics & the social sector. He is a Partner & Co-Head of Global Impact at KKR. Since joining KKR in 2008, Ken has architected KKR’s responsible investment efforts that seek to create shared value for KKR investors and other stakeholders. He has also worked to identify investment opportunities by leveraging geopolitical, public policy & sustainability trends.

Dan Porterfield is President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a global nonprofit organization committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society. A native of the City of Baltimore, where he was raised by a single mother at the height of the civil rights movement, and a Rhodes Scholar, he has been recognized as a visionary strategist, transformational leader, devoted educator, and passionate advocate for justice and opportunity.

Linnea Conrad Roberts

GingerBread Capital

Linnea Conrad Roberts is a former advisory director to Goldman Sachs and is the current Founder & CEO of GingerBread Capital, which builds and invests in women’s entrepreneurial success. As a Managing Partner in the technology sector at Goldman Sachs, she led many a start-up from launch to IPO. She also served as Goldman’s diversity ambassador to recruit, retain and promote more women into leadership positions with the firm and within the finance industry.
