Steve Majors brings over two decades of experience in communications, marketing and media, most recently as VP, Marketing and Communications at Communities In Schools (CIS), a national nonprofit with 135 affiliates operating in 26 states. In this role Steve has led on a diverse portfolio of projects, including a campaign that resulted in integrated student supports being called out in the reauthorization of ESSA, affiliate adoption of CIS’s DEI strategy, and a powerful campaign to uplift the voices of CIS’s students and tell their stories.

Prior to his work at CIS, Steve served in various roles in communications and media, including several years as a Senior Producer at NBC News.  He is also the author of several published essays and a forthcoming memoir.  Steve is a graduate of Clarkson University and received his master’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University.  He lives in suburban Maryland with his partner, Todd, and their two daughters Claudia and Shoshana.
